Domestic Violence
Allegations of domestic abuse often lead to the filing of a Protection From Abuse (PFA) order; however, they also result in other charges such as simple assault, aggravated assault, spousal abuse, spousal rape, harassment and reckless endangerment. Domestic violence requires a domestic relationship which includes husbands and wives, parents (including biological parents, step parents, and parents’ partners) and child, same sex partners and boyfriend and girlfriend.
Domestic Violence Charges do not require the person who filed a complaint to testify or cooperate. Therefore, not every case is dismissed by prosecutors. Our attorneys can provide you with a realistic outlook, as well as discuss programs which may be available to prevent a conviction if the prosecution has a strong case.
