Weapons Charges
If you were accused to a weapons charge in Pennsylvania, and convicted, you will be subject to mandatory minimum prison sentences. Generally, the crime of possessing a firearm without a license is a misdemeanor. This misdemeanor can become a felony if the unlicensed person is in possession of a gun while committing another crime such as possession of drugs. These charges often include:
- Possessing a firearm without a license;
- Committing a crime with a weapon;
- Possession of a weapon by a convicted felon;
- Possession of a weapon by a person ordered not to possess.
If you are in possession of a firearm and arrested for a drug offence, there is a mandatory minimum sentence of five (5) years. If charged with a gun or weapons offense, consequences can be severe. Our offices will evaluate the facts of your case and provide you with a realistic determination of the potential outcome.
